AMALYA is a private bridal couture studio in Jerusalem, established in 2007. Every gown is hand-sewn and hand-beaded for one bride, to her measurements.
There is no sales floor and no rack of dozens of dresses. There is one appointment at a time, arranged in advance, with Amalya or one of the senior seamstresses.
A Bridal Studio in Jerusalem
The studio is at 68 Kanfey Nesharim Street, Jerusalem, open Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 to 15:00. Appointments are private and arranged in advance, one on one.
At a first appointment you can look at pieces from the seasonal collections, handle lace samples and base fabrics, and see how the gowns fall on a body.
Modest Wedding Dresses in Jerusalem
Modesty here is the starting point of the design, not a limit on it. A modest gown, without compromise on design.
The studio line is specific:
- •A sleeve that ends at the wrist.
- •A neckline that closes at the collarbone.
- •A fabric that is opaque everywhere, including under flash.
There is no size chart here: every gown is made to measure, so petite, tall, plus-size, and expecting brides all receive a full fit.

A densely beaded bodice can take two to four hundred hours of handwork. Every Swarovski stone, glass bead, and pearl is set one by one.
The laces are commissioned in limited runs from mills in France and Italy, and the base fabrics come from regular European suppliers. Embroidery is done by hand at the studio, after the sewing.
A Custom Wedding Dress, Sewn in Jerusalem
You can start from a collection piece and adapt it, or design a gown from a blank page. There is also a third path: adding a sleeve, raising a neckline, or changing the beadwork on an existing design.
Most brides in Israel close their order about three months before the wedding; for brides abroad we recommend at least four. Every gown goes through three to four fittings before the wedding date.
