Modest Wedding Dresses in JerusalemCouture by Hand, Made to Measure

At the AMALYA studio in Jerusalem, modesty is the starting point of the design, not a limit on it. Every gown is hand-sewn and hand-beaded for one bride, to her measurements.

The studio was established in 2007 and specialises in gowns for brides who keep modesty. There is no sales floor: one appointment at a time, arranged in advance, in quiet.

The Studio Line

Three principles hold in every gown, whatever the cut or the line of the dress:

  • A sleeve that ends at the wrist.
  • A neckline that closes at the collarbone.
  • A fabric that is opaque everywhere, including under flash.

Opacity You Can See in the Light

A modest gown carries far more lace, so opacity is part of the design rather than a check at the end. Lace sleeves are lined with an extra layer of matte silk or cotton batiste, so the pattern stays visible and the skin does not show.

Every lace element is checked under studio light, flash, and sunlight before the gown leaves the studio.

Made to Measure, for Every Body

There is no size chart here: every gown is made to measure, so petite, tall, plus-size, and expecting brides all receive a full fit.

You can start from a collection piece and adapt it, add a sleeve, raise a neckline, or change the beadwork, or design a new gown from a blank page.

Timeline

Most brides in Israel close their order about three months before the wedding; for brides abroad we recommend at least four. Every gown goes through three to four fittings before the wedding date.

The first step is an hour at the studio.

A first appointment at the Jerusalem studio is personal and private. You, the collections, and quiet time to choose well.
