International BridesA Custom Modest Wedding Gown, Ordered from Anywhere

AMALYA is a private bridal couture studio in Jerusalem, established in 2007. Every modest wedding gown is hand-sewn and hand-beaded for one bride, to her measurements, and that bride does not need to live in Israel.

Distance changes the logistics, not the gown. A first appointment can happen over video, fittings can be gathered into fewer trips, and the finished gown travels to you. Here is how that works.

How It Works from Abroad

International brides can start with a virtual appointment, then visit either the Jerusalem studio or the Brooklyn partner for fittings. The studio plans the fitting schedule so the number of trips is kept down, and coordinates shipping for the finished gown.

Some brides only come to Jerusalem for the final fitting, a few days before the wedding. Others gather the fittings into one longer stay. There is no single template; the sequence is built around your calendar and your date.

  • A first appointment over video: what you have in mind, the timeline, and your modesty preferences.
  • Design and measurements, guided from the studio.
  • Fittings at the Jerusalem studio or with the partner in Brooklyn, consolidated into fewer visits.
  • The finished gown, shipped to arrive several weeks before the wedding.

The Brooklyn Partner

For brides in the New York area, we work with our partner Haas Bridal in Brooklyn, which allows for in-person fittings without flying to Israel.

The sewing itself stays in Jerusalem, from the first sketch to the last bead; the fittings can happen closer to home.

The Timeline from Abroad

Most brides in Israel close their order about three months before the wedding; for brides abroad we recommend at least four, to leave time for fittings and shipping.

Most brides have three to four fittings. For international clients, we work to consolidate fittings into fewer visits, and the final fitting takes place close to the wedding date.

Finished gowns ship worldwide, tracked and insured. The shipment is timed to arrive several weeks before the wedding.

The Gown Itself

The reason to order from so far away is what happens at the worktable. A densely beaded bodice can take two to four hundred hours of handwork; every Swarovski stone, glass bead, and pearl is set one by one.

The laces are commissioned from European mills, and the base fabrics come from trusted houses in France and Italy. Every gown is hand-sewn and hand-beaded in Jerusalem, made to measure for one bride.

Whether you would call it a bespoke modest wedding dress or simply a kallah gown, it is drawn, cut, and sewn for you alone.

Getting Married in Israel

If your wedding is in Israel, the trip you are already planning becomes the fitting schedule: a first appointment over video before you fly, fittings during your stay, and the final fitting a few days before the wedding.

Tell us your dates in your first message, and the calendar is built from there, unhurried.

The first step is an hour together, wherever you are.

The first appointment is free of charge. It can take place over video or at the Jerusalem studio. Write to us on WhatsApp with your wedding date and where you live, and we will plan the way from there.
