What brings brides to Amalya, almost always by word of mouth, is one thing that is hard to explain in words and instantly visible in the mirror: the way the gown sits on the body. Behind that moment stand nearly twenty years of craft. Amalya Cohen began her path in fashion houses and bridal salons in Israel and abroad, and in 2007 opened a studio of her own; from that first small room grew the showroom where the studio lives today in Jerusalem, devoted to brides who hold to modesty.
Every gown that leaves the studio is hand-sewn. The beading combines Swarovski stones, glass beads, sequins, and pearls, and is set on laces commissioned specifically from European mills. Base fabrics arrive from the same French and Italian houses the studio has worked with for years.
Her eye is modern and exacting, drawing on inspiration from many sources. The work balances precision and fine detail with a softness and romanticism in the finish. That pairing is what gives each gown its quiet, refined character.
Each gown holds to the principles her brides hold dearest: a long sleeve, a closed neckline, and an opaque fabric. Alongside the existing pieces in the seasonal collections, brides can also commission a bespoke design, drafted from a blank page to fit their measurements, style, and preferences. Amalya works closely with every bride, attentive to each wish, so that the finished dress feels entirely her own.

The Studio
The studio sits on Kanfey Nesharim Street in Jerusalem, and all visits are by private appointment. Inside you will find the seasonal collections in their full range of textures, inspirations, and cuts, with room to try the existing styles or begin designing a gown of your own. Every gown is made with love and exacting precision, shaped around each bride's taste and wishes, an attention that shows in every stitch and every cut. Over the years the studio has been fortunate to dress many happy brides in Israel and around the world, and it would be a joy to welcome you among them.
Every AMALYA gown is cut, sewn, and beaded in Jerusalem. A single beaded bodice carries thousands of hand-set stones and pearls, between two hundred and four hundred hours of handwork.
